COACH PETE

Goalie Coach & 10U Director
Michael Lane - better known around the rink as Coach Laner - is a local goaltender whose journey through Austin Hockey is a testament to hard work, grit, and passion for the game.
Starting in 2020 under the direct mentorship of Coach Pete, Laner began diving deep into the technical and mental side of goaltending. His growth has been fueled by a relentless mindset: show up, put in the work, and get better every day.
Coach Laner has played with the Texas Rising Stars and Texas Jr. Stars, and served as a full-time practice goalie with the NA3HL’s Austin Ice Bats. His dedication has now earned him a spot on the active roster for the Ice Bats in the upcoming season, marking another big step in his playing career.
Off the ice, Laner leads the 10U program at Tendy Hockey Company, where he focuses on developing the next generation of local goalies. Drawing from his own experience and everything he’s learned along the way, he’s committed to helping young tendys build a strong foundation and a love for the grind.
Michael’s ultimate goal is to continue climbing the junior hockey ladder, earn a college scholarship, and play at the highest level possible - bringing the determination he coaches with to every step of his journey.
